SOLDIERS' WAGES CUT TO FUND ABORTIONS!

On February 18, 2011, the Republican Party presented to Congress a bill to cut funding from Planned Parenthood. (Planned Parenthood is the largest provider of abortions in America.) It’s claimed that other services are provided such as breast cancer screening, cervical cancer tests and contraceptives.Yet Live Action released videotaped footage of calls to 30 Planned Parenthood centers nationwide in 27 different states where abortion facility staff were asked whether or not mammograms could be performed on site. Every one of the Planned Parenthood centers admitted they could not do mammograms.

Every Planned Parenthood, without exception, tells the women calling that they will have to go elsewhere for a mammogram, and many clinics admit that no Planned Parenthood clinics provide the breast cancer screening procedure. “We don’t provide those services whatsoever,” admits a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona, while a staffer at Planned Parenthood’s Comprehensive Health Center clinic in Overland Park, Kansas, tells a caller, “We actually don’t have a, um, mammogram machine at our clinics.”

What is not being said is the fact that a lot of aid provided by the government goes to fund abortions. In addition, they only report second trimester abortion statistics. You’ll never hear about the 14 million chemical abortions induced by contraceptive means each year.

The rider to cut Planned Parenthood funds was attached to a bill to continue funding the government, including money to pay the troops overseas for the rest of the fiscal year. This budget was passed in the House of Representatives by a 240-185 majority. Unfortunately, Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats would not budge on the budget, meaning that our troops are not going to be paid because the government feels it is more important to fund abortions.
Their excuse is that Planned Parenthood provides more than just abortions, but including mammograms for breast cancer.

Ironically enough, on February 22, 2011, (just four days later) Harry Reid, the same man who is supporting abortions, proposed a bill to make prostitution illegal in the continental U.S. Not long before this proposed bill, a Pro-Life organization called LiveAction released video tapes of undercover investigators pretending to be pimps running an illegal prostitution ring of underage girls between the ages of 14-15. They also claimed that a lot of these girls were foreigners and were seeking abortions. Over 30 Planned Parenthood centers were investigated, and all of them complied with these illegal requests at the expense of our tax dollars and also informed the pimp on how to get around the law to aid him further in his request.

How can Harry Reid support funding for Planned Parenthood at the expense of our troops' wages but not support prostitution at the same time, when the very organization he is supporting encourages and complies with illegal prostitution?

It is also interesting to note that according to the Hyde Amendment, it is illegal for tax dollars to be used for abortions. With such startling evidence for abortion, why is our government supporting Planned Parenthood? Yet over 300 million dollars of taxpayer's money is given to Planned Parenthood each year. This travesty has gone on long enough.

With the legalization of abortion in Roe vs. Wade, women were given the opportunity to choose, but what happened to the choice of all the other American people not to legalize or support abortion? Just because they were now given the choice does not mean the government has the right to enforce those choices on private citizens. If women want to get an abortion, they should have to pay for it. Besides the moral issues, this is a private matter that is ridiculous for any government to fund, especially when cuts are supposedly being made around the nation, and our troops are not getting paid to defend our country. We are giving government aid to kill our children, but yet we are not paying our soldiers to protect us from being killed.
